This is an enormous bag for carrying big pretty things

You’ll love the carefully & double stitched seams,
the several layers of interfacing.
Approx. Dimensions: 13” across the top, 15” deep, 21” across the bottom.
The wide comfy padded quilted strap has a 15″ drop
which means it can be worn messenger style or purse style.

Our 4th of July Celebration - Way Too Much Food LOL!

We are having a terrific holiday weekend here with friends and family! Still eating all the food we made a few days ago - sooo many leftovers yikes! Course I don’t have to cook for a change yeah!

Here is one of the recipes I would like to share that is always a hit.

INGREDIENTS

1 (16 ounce) package uncooked tri-color spiral pasta
2 grilled chicken breasts cut in bite size pieces
1/2 cup thinly sliced carrots
2 stalks celery, chopped
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup cucumbers, peeled and thinly sliced
2 large tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 (16 ounce) bottles Italian-style salad dressing
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS

Cook pasta in large pot of boiling water until al dente. Rinse under cold water, and drain.
Mix chopped chicken, carrots, celery, cucumber, green pepper, tomatoes, and onion together in large bowl.
Combine cooled pasta and vegetables together in large bowl. Pour Italian dressing over mixture, add Parmesan cheese and mix well.
Chill for one hour before serving.

Artisan bread this month…

and next month will be our yearly soapmaking day. One day every year for the past 13 years I have been making our soap. It takes one day for me to make 24-30 lbs of soap & that will give us and some gifts to others, enough bath soap for the year.

But back to artisan bread baking… my fave site http://www.artisanbreadinfive.com/ love the master recipe which I tweak with more whole wheat. If you haven’t tried this yet (I am sure everyone has heard of it!) I would love to encourage you to try it just once and you will be hooked! It is idiot proof and quick - which are my two requirements LOL!

Next month … soapmaking!

Our Chocolate Rice Krispies Treats Recipe

Dd had one of her friends for a sleepover and we all made these together - too yummy!

There are a couple of “musts” to making the perfect gooey Rice Krispies

Treats:
(1) the stovetop is THE way to go
(2) you HAVE to melt the butter sloooowly and make sure it doesn’t turn
brown at all.
(3) mix in the marshmallows and melt them just as slowly. If the butter
gets brown, the treats will be dry.

We double our recipe and it still fits fine into a 13×9 pan (grease the pan ).

To make them use the following measurements:

11.5 cups Rice Krispies,
1 whole stick of butter,
(1) 16oz bag of mini marshmallows.
1 tsp vanilla added to melted marshmallows

optional - 1 cup choc chips added to the melted marshmallows

Press into the greased pan with a piece of waxed paper and let it cool - then cut into squares
Or shape into balls or use a cookie cutter for shapes as well.
